Tehnis Dromena Gallery is located in the centre of the old Strovolos area in a traditional house built in 1921. The imposing entrance, the wooden stairs, the traditional high windows, the wooden beams on the ceiling, the attractive arch, the balcony and the impressive inside yard, make the building unique.
The Gallery was opened 6 years ago by the Strovolos Mayor Mr Savvas Eliofotou. Since then a lot of Cypriot and foreign artists have exhibited their work here - painting, scultptures and icons. In addition, the management regularly screens quality films outside in the garden, organises poetry and music evenings under the moon and invites distinguished people to give lectures, seminars and lead a variety of discussions.

Some words from the Mayor of Strovolos
Strovolos has numerous traditional mansions and many imposing buildings. Especially the centre of old Strovolos with the church of the Virgin Mary of Chryseleousa, the picturesque neighbourhoods and the narrow streets.The aim of the Municipality of Strovolos is to preserve and strengthen this character, a priceless part of our culture.
The countries of Europe are highly sensitised to this idea and protecting traditional architecture is a top priority. The establishment of the Tehnis Dromena Gallery of which I had the honour of performing the opening ceremony four years ago, is within the framework of this effort.
I want to take this opportunity to congratulate the owner of the Gallery for her initiative in choosing a traditional building in which to house the Gallery. In this way it promotes the cultural tradition of our area that is part of the goal of our Municipality.
